Why Should You Invest?
Investing is a long-term game.
In the short term, it can feel especially fruitless, however, those who understand compound interest are able to see the beauty that sensible and sustainable investment provides over the longer term.
The classic investment example is to use the S&P 500 as a metric for investment success which has increase by roughly 10% per year on average over the past 50 years. Let’s truly put that into perspective –
If you were to invest £100 per month for 5 years, you would end up with over £7000. That is obviously great but doesn’t sound very impressive. However, If you continued to invest £100 for a total of 40 years you would end up with…
£550,000! Not a bad sum to retire on considering how little we invested up front!
All of that without needing to work any more hours, and without sacrificing too much fun today!
Investing is and should be for everyone and the sooner you start, the greater your returns will be!
